Vickie lived life to the fullest and always had a contagious smile on her face. She loved planning spontaneous trips with her family and friends, and she found life’s purpose in her faith. Vickie’s hobbies and passions were as abundant as her love for others, and she enjoyed scrapbooking, crafting, swimming, cheering on her favorite Kansas City Chiefs, sitting in nature, watching the birds and roasting a burnt marshmallow by a bonfire.
As a devoted mother and grandmother, she enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren find their passions. She adored them all and loved hearing about their accomplishments. She was their biggest supporter.
Vickie did not wait to enjoy life, and she never let a moment pass without making the world a better place. She was the first to bless others and was passionate about volunteering with children who have special needs through A Night to Remember.
Vickie was an incredibly hard worker and spent much of her career working at Boyle’s and Global Furniture Group. She always found a way to make work fun, and she was incredibly excited to retire in one year.
Vickie pursued her relationship with Christ daily, and she frequented many churches in Kansas City and visited many other churches while traveling with family and friends. She was a great example of Christ’s love for others.
Through GenesisKC, Vickie found some of her best friends. She found joy and adventure with this group taking road trips, attending christian music concerts, closing down Pizza Ranch on senior citizen night, and supporting others each day.
Vickie will be remembered for her radiant smile, contagious personality, selfless generosity, and steadfast faith. She was the sweetest mother, supportive grandmother, loyal sister, fun-loving aunt, encouraging cousin, and cherished friend.
Vickie was born in Kansas City, Mo. and attended William Chrisman High School where she met some of her dearest friends, whom she remained close to over the years.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Vickie’s memory to Variety KC, a local nonprofit focused on many of the things Vickie was passionate about.
