
Vivian Laverne (Nelson) Fuchs of Leawood, Kansas passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013. She was born on September 24th, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri and lived her life in the Kansas City area. Vivian graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1951 with a BS degree in Business Administration.
She began her professional career as a Buyer for Rothschild’s and Adler’s where she worked until she met her late husband, John Fuchs and began a family.
Vivian devoted her life to the people and values she loved. She was an attentive mother who actively followed her children’s sporting activities and was the President of the PTA. She was an active member of the Village Presbyterian Church, Alpha Sigma Alpha Alumni Association and the Republican Women’s Association. In her spare time she was an avid gardener, quilter, bridge player, and dedicated KU basketball fan. She had a keen sense of humor and above all she loved to laugh.
Vivian was survived by her children: David, Russ and Cathy Fuchs and her daughters-in-law Marty and Linda. She had four grandchildren Ben, Matt, Christie and Michelle.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 26th at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208. Private interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Village Presbyterian Church.
