Wallace Marvin "Pete" Metcalfe, 85, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away June 14, 2011. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made at American Diabetes Association and/or American Lung Association. Mr. Metcalfe was born September 23, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of Rememberance Harley and Mary Eunice (Wilkinson) Metcalfe. He was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of Carpenter Local 61 and had worked in the construction industry all of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife. Mr. Metcalfe is survived by his sons Harley and wife Julie Metcalfe and Jeffrey and wife Nancy Metcalfe, all of Overland Park, Kansas; brother Chuck Metcalfe of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; sister-in-law Eileen Page; grandchildren Dana Brundage, Amanda Metcalfe, Daniel Metcalfe, Sarah Metcalfe and Michael Metcalfe; and great-grandchildren Cade and Conner Brundage.
