

William “Bill” T. Hatton, 76, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on March 21, 2012 at his home. Memorial visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Inurnment will be at Columbia Cemetery in Columbia, Missouri. Bill was born September 22, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of Frederick Z. and Sara Ann (Wheeler) Hatton. He is survived by his sisters Ann von Gremp and husband Walt of Laguna Beach, California and Jane Stein and husband Jim of Clinton, Missouri; brother Leonard and wife Kathy Hatton of Raymore, Missouri, 19 nieces and nephews, 14 great-nieces and nephews; and six great-great-nieces and nephews. Bill will also be missed by Dilcia Carta, Nathan Muncy, his Mt. Moriah family and his many friends. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman from 1953-1961. He worked as a Hospitality Manager at various hotels throughout the U.S. and on Margarita Island, Venezuela before starting Hatton Pest Control which he owned for 35 years. After retiring, he worked part-time for Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home. Bill attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and loved to watch Mizzou sports. He was an avid fowl hunter, fisherman and a good conservationist. His sense of humor, smile, and overall gentlemanly Southern charm are just a few of the things Bill will be remembered for.
