Bill Monroe, 83, Kansas City, passed away April 14, 2013. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospital.
Bill was born April 4, 1930 in Kansas City, MO, son of William C., Sr. and Dorothy (Warren) Monroe. He was a 1948 graduate of Paseo High School. In May of 1950 he married Joan Dillie, who preceded him in death. He was a Master Plumber and a member of Plumbers Local #8 for over 50 years. Bill was also a member of DeMolay, Mason Swope Park Lodge 617, Scottish Rite, and Ararat Shrine.
He was also preceded in death by his brother Donald A. Monroe.
Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marilyn A. (Paine) Monroe; daughters Marsha Williamson, Marilyn “DeeDee” Monroe and Missy Robbins (Bob); grandsons Chris and wife Roxanne Wise, and Blake Ritter; great-grandson Nolan Wise; stepchildren Cindy Weinel, and Scott and wife Kim Paine; step-grandchildren Nicholas and Alexandria Weinel, and Travis, Abby, and Corbin Paine; extended family and friends.
