

William (Bill) Chais passed away August 3, 2017 from cancer. He was born February 1, 1936 in New York City. He attended St. Mary's High School on Long Island and received his degree in business administration from St. Louis University. While at St. Louis University, he met his future wife, Virginia Pierce, who was attending Fontbonne College. They were married in St. Louis and recently celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary. Bill enjoyed a long career in sales where he traveled throughout the Midwest, eventually transferring to Kansas City.
He owned Kansas Clock Works for several years and enjoyed sharing his knowledge of clocks with his customers. Some of his favorite times were spent with his rehab exercise group. He also was a history expert on World War II and old cars. He had many friends from the organizations he joined and from church. When you were Bill's friend, you were a friend for life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and his son, Bill Chais Jr. He leaves his wife, Ginny, and daughters, Jeanne (Mick), Joan, Patti, Ann (Brett) and son, Steve. He also loved and leaves 13 grandchildren.
Services will be held at Church of the Ascension, 9510 W. 127th Street, Overland Park, Kansas on Friday, August 11th at 10:00am. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:45 prior to the service at the church.

Broadway, #1850, St. Louis, Missouri 63102. The family is deeply grateful for the care given to him by the Doctors and staff at St. Luke's Hospital Plaza and Olathe Hospice House. He was well loved by all and will be greatly missed.
