

William "Bill" Chapman, 80, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, September 6th, at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Rd, Kansas City, MO. Graveside services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, September 7th, 2013 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Chapel, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO. Bill was born on October 26, 1932 to Harry and Flossie Chapman. After graduating from Jefferson City High School he attended the University of Missouri where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Social Fraternity and the Pi Sigma Epsilon Business Fraternity. Upon graduating college he married Betty Lou Cox and together they raised two sons. He had a successful career as a purchasing manager and retired from Marley Heating and Cooling. His free time was spent volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America and was a Sachem in the Tribe of Mic-o-Say and was a Wood Badge Leader for many years. He was extremely proud that both of his sons achieved Eagle Scout status. He was also instrumental in the nursing home ministry for St. Thomas More Catholic Church where he served as an Eucharistic minister for many years. Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty of Lee's Summit; two sons Jeff (Marge) Chapman of Georgetown, Tx; Jim (Sara) Chapman of Lee's Summit; six grandchildren, Logan Miller of Kansas City, Chase, Cooper and Grace Chapman of Lee's Summit, Sarah Woodard of Overland Park, KS, and Emily Woodard of Lenexa, KS. In lieu of flowers the family appreciates the donations to the Kansas City Hospice House.
