William L. Lee, 98, Kansas City, MO, died Dec. 13, 2013. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, December 16 at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd., KCMO. Interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, alongside his dear friend, Rhee C. Gartman. All of William’s family and relatives preceded him in death.
William attended Longview and Benton grade schools, Central High School and junior college in Kansas City. He served in the US Army 1942 – 1946 as part of the 2nd Signal Battalion and as a Japanese Intercept Operator. He received the Meritorious Unit Award, American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Mission Good Conduct Award.
For 10 years, he worked as paymaster and cost accountant on building refineries, chemical plants and dock loading facilities in Middle America.
