Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved life and hard work. He had a long career in the commercial electrical construction business in Kansas City, first as a project manager for J.N. Kelley Electrical Construction and eventually as its owner. He lived in Kansas City, MO, and Leawood, KS, for most of his life before retiring and moving to the Chicago area.
When his children were young, he always planned family vacations, loading up the station wagon and hitting the road. Later, he purchased a home at the Lake of the Ozarks, where he loved pulling kids on skis and taking long boat rides. After he and his wife, Carolee—who preceded him in death—became empty nesters, they spent their time traveling.
Bill leaves behind two daughters, Marjorie Lauvstad of Kansas City and Kelley Murray Wall of Chicago, IL; his son, John William Murray of Leawood, KS; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
