I had to the pleasure to work with Willie in the early 90's at ADT.  When he arrived I knew him already from our church.  I really enjoyed that time because I got to know him as a work buddy.  He was always so engaging and became part of the work family instantly.  He had the biggest smile but one of my fondest memories is that he would come in later than us and always brought his favorite barbeque chicken for his lunch each day.  He had all of us eating after a while, we didn't realize we had a barbeque place nearby, it was called "Smoke Box." Always, a great colleague and did an excellent job.

To the Burrough's family you all had a jewel in both your parents.  Praying that you all will treasure all your beautiful memories and that God gives you comfort, peace and strength during this time.  Love you all.

I am Sharon Green, my daughter is TaNeise Jones. I had the pleasure of meeting Willie and Mary Burroughs, we were members of GPT.  I chose the Burroughs as my daughters Godparents. The Burroughs were a great power couple in those days, this impressed my young life. I saw two young people who were highly educated, married and loved the Lord. I thought this is the standard of life I would want for my child, if something ever happened to me. I owe Willie and Mary Burroughs a great debt of gratitude for the part they played in our lives.

To the Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Willie was a good person with a beautiful soul. My heart goes out to you and your family. Willie will see Mary and they will rejoice together. I will not be able to attend the funeral. This was hard  for me to process. Love you family! May God keep you and hold you in the palm of his hands. Look to God for strength and comfort. To the family of Willie Emidge Burroughs I send my deepest sympathy in this difficult time. He was a devoted husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and but also a good friend to everyone.  Mr. Burroughs was a good person in his own special way, he share a lot of love to everyone he came in contact. He definitely, was a blessing to everyone always, which he was truly called a friend in deed. He was loved dearly by family, and friends. He was well known in the community. He also enjoyed family time. He loved his family very much. I’ve worked with him at one of the Charter Schools of America Academy of Kansas City. I’ve meet his wife Mary Burroughs, and his sister-in-law Margaret Evans (twins) at Greater Pentecostal Temple under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Bishop Marvin E. Donaldson. Gone to soon… but not forgotten. He transition home to glory, where he received his wings, he definitely will be missed, to all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with, his children, his grandchildren, his siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and the rest of his whole family, and friends. “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” (Psalm 30: 5) Rest in peace Mr. Burroughs; you’re now resting in the arms of Jesus. I'm sad. Willie and I worked at ADT Security together first. We had a great time on 2nd shift. Then again at the IRS campus where we kept in touch. The world was a better place because of Willie. Condolences to his family.

This one hits so very hard. Willie was one of a kind! I will miss his infectious smile and laugh. We laughed together so hard until our bellies hurt. You would never not find a bag of Jack Stack BBQ in hand when he was coming in, too.  LOL. Oh Willie, I will miss you my dear friend.

Willie was such a good friend to me! He was also so happy and kind to work with. We always shared jokes and recipes and family stories. I will miss him so much. He was truly a bright light in this world!
