Wilma was born August 3, 1923 to Charles and Elizabeth Colaflower of Sedalia, MO. Wilma graduated from Smith Cotton High School and went to work for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator, where she worked for 35 years. She met her husband at a USO dance. They were married for 68 years. Wilma volunteered in many areas but her favorite was working at Truman Medical Center East, testing newborn’s hearing. She loved to travel, was a member of water aerobics for many years and enjoyed her weekly card and bingo games with friends. She was a member of Lee’s Summit Bible Church.
Wilma is survived by her two sons, Michael Clinton Hodges (Maria), of Blue Springs and Dennis Dean Hodges (Wanda), of Lone Jack; sister, Doris Moon, of Sedalia and her family; sisters-in-law June Piatt (Billy), and Margie Holt (Marvin), all of Clarksville, TN. She was loved dearly by her grandchildren, Beth Blair (Rob); Richie Hodges (Lori), Vanessa Hodges, Larry Hodges, and Tony Morgan; great grandchildren Kade and Kyle Blair; Chapman, Azaylah and Ryan Hodges; Ariana and Anthony Morgan.
Wilma made friends easily and left a trail of them wherever she went. She was loved by so many who will remember her “vivacious” (her word) personality.
Graveside services will be 11am, Monday, May 3, 2021 at Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee’s Summit, MO.
