

Amber Kay Appleby, 53, passed away on February 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer that lasted nearly five years. Amber faced her illness with the same strength and grace that defined her throughout her life, never losing her kindness, warmth, or her ability to make others feel heard and valued.
Born on January 31, 1972, in Davenport, Iowa, Amber is best known for her friendly nature, thoughtfulness, and being a wonderful listener. Amber had an undeniable gift for making everyone around her feel special. Her deep care for her family and friends was evident in everything she did, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she was a devoted member of Southstone Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Fred Appleby; her daughters, Brittney McCashland and her husband, Kyle, Kayla Patterson and her husband, Austin, and Skyler Appleby; and her grandchildren, Emma McCashland and Harper McCashland. She was eagerly anticipating the arrival of two more grandchildren, Lainey McCashland and Kingston Patterson. As well as her parents Robert and Janice Tetmeyer; her sister, Kim Pine; and many other loving family members and friends.
A Visitation (Family only) will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at
Katy Funeral Home located at 23350 Kingsland Blvd Katy, TX 77494.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Southstone Church, located at 1507 Katy Flewellen Rd., Katy, Texas, 77494.
Amber’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and unwavering support. While she will be deeply missed, her spirit and the lessons she taught us all about courage and compassion will continue to inspire. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
