

Dr. Riepma was born in Sheridan, Iowa. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1945 and from Iowa State University in 1950 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. In both high school and college, he was the youngest member of his class. At Iowa State, he was a member of the Acacia Fraternity. Tony married Helen DeJong in 1953 at Hartley, Iowa.
He served 20 years in US Army Veterinary Corps and retired in 1973 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his service, he served in South Korea, Vietnam, and had two tours in Germany. After retiring, he joined the US Department of Agriculture where he was Inspector in Charge. He retired in 1998. He moved from Amarillo, TX to Katy, TX in 1991 to be closer to his daughter.
Tony is preceded in death by his wife Helen, his daughter, Deborah Malave and his sister, Grace Maupin. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Gilmer of Katy, TX; two sisters, Sally Snow of Phoenix, AZ and Gretchen Hewitt of Hot Springs Village, AR; five grandchildren - William Malave, Scott Malave, Julia Eigenmann, Suzanne Malave, and Melanie McManus and two great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that any memorials be sent to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch.
