He was born and raised in Brenham, Texas, where his roots in family, faith, and community were first planted. He attended Brenham High School before continuing his education at Texas A&M University, where he earned a degree in accounting. His Aggie spirit remained with him throughout his life. He later obtained his CPA license and built a distinguished professional career, serving as Chief Financial Officer for several corporations before founding and operating his own business, Hufco.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a man who deeply valued the joys of everyday life. He had a lifelong love of sports and was a devoted supporter of Texas A&M athletics. For more than thirty years he proudly held season tickets to Aggie football games, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on the team. Whether watching football or following any other Aggie sport, his loyalty and enthusiasm were unmistakable.
Weekends often found him enjoying time outdoors or with friends. He loved playing golf and tennis, sharing stories and laughter along the way. Fishing was another lifelong passion that took him from quiet freshwater lakes and winding streams to the open bays along the coast. Wherever there was water and a line to cast, he felt at home.
In later years he became known for his relaxed style often seen wearing a favorite Hawaiian shirt. He and his beloved wife, Mary Ann, shared a love of travel and adventure, especially cruising with groups of dear friends to destinations around the world. Those journeys created many treasured memories.
Family and faith were the cornerstones of his life. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and most recently worshipped at Holy Comforter Lutheran Church. His faith guided his compassion for others, including his support of organizations serving individuals with special needs. He also generously gave his time to the Special Olympics in support of his daughter and others in the community.
Charles was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was deeply involved in his family’s life. He took great joy in supporting his wife and children in their many activities throughout the years and was a constant source of love, strength, and encouragement. Above all, he was a true family man who loved his family dearly. Perhaps nothing brought him more joy in recent years than being present for his grandsons. Whether it was a sporting event, concert, academic milestone, or school activity, he was there watching with pride and encouragement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Rosa Wiesepape.
Charles is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Wiesepape; his son, Wade Wiesepape and wife Alexi; his daughter, Stacey Wiesepape; and his grandchildren, Tyler Wiesepape and wife Dora and Tristan Wiesepape; his brother, Floyd Wiesepape and wife Betty; and many nieces and nephews.
His life was marked by loyalty, generosity, humor, and a steady love for the people around him. He will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to Vita-Living in support of individuals with special needs.
