Daniel Patrick Murphy

Daniel Patrick MURPHY, age 57, of Katy, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 after a sudden illness. Daniel was born in Newark, NJ on June 14, 1964. Dan was a lover of life who formed tremendous friendships and everyone that knew him loved him immensely. Dan worked hard to achieve his dream of owning a beach house to share with his friends and family in Crystal Beach, TX. He always said "the beach is my happy place".

Dan grew up in Colonia, NJ and was a 1982 Colonia High School graduate. Upon completion of high school Dan entered the U.S. Army and served four years in Germany and Texas. Dan relocated to Katy, Texas in 1995. He loved his career in the trucking industry working for Heil and Brenner Tank Services for over 25 years.

Dan was a member of the Colonia American Legion Post #248, Colonia Memorial VFW Post #6061, Katy Knights of Columbus Council #6950, and the Fraternal order of Eagles in Crystal Beach, TX.

Dan is predeceased by his father, Joseph Paul, and his mother, Joan. He is survived by his brothers: Paul (Trish), Michael (Laura), Thomas (Stephanie) and his sisters: Susan Murphy and Lynn (Mark) Williams and special cousin, Jaime Brina. Dan is also survived by his many nieces and nephews who were his world: Heather, Caitie Jo, Timmy, Wayne, Kimberly, Brandon, Andrew, Josh, Quinn, Christopher, Morgan and Jaxon.

A visitation for Daniel will be held Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, KATY, TX 77494. A funeral mass will occur Monday, July 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 5356 11th St., Katy, TX 77493. The family is planning a celebration of life in New Jersey at a future date.

Dan was a great guy who left this earth too soon. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and family who loved him so much.
