

Deborah Kay (Bull) Hilpert, age 67, was born on October 1, 1952, in Fort Hood, Texas, to R.D. and Pauline Bull. She passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, in Houston, Texas, after a five year battle with Alzheimer’s.
In 1954, her Dad, who served in the United States Army, and their family, spent 3 years in Germany before returning to Hot Springs, Arkansas, in 1957. The family returned to Germany and eventually, returned to San Antonio, where her Dad was stationed at Fort Sam Houston.
Debbie graduated from Roosevelt High School, San Antonio, TX, in 1970. She married afterward and the couple had a son, Brian, born in 1979. During the mid-80’s, the family moved to Houston and unfortunately, divorced soon afterward.
Debbie enjoyed Country & Western dancing and met Don at Wild West, in 1986. The two spent many hours dancing and having fun together. On December 18, 1988, Don and Debbie married. They had a strong affection for one another, often referred to as “The Love Birds”.
Debbie was employed by Cushman Wakefield for 15 years, until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, in March 2015. Debbie loved cats and her heart belonged to her Persian’s, Chelsea and Maiko, whom she had for 20 years. She and Don loved to go on cruises, some of their favorite Ports were Key West and Nassau/Bahamas. Debbie was also an avid reader of Stephen King novels and was known to have a “sweet tooth”, finding great pleasure in Oreo and Chips Ahoy cookies.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father, SFC R.D. Bull, of San Antonio, Texas.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Hilpert, of Katy, Texas; mother, Paula Bull, of San Antonio, Texas; sisters: Susie Demo, of San Antonio, Texas, and Nancy Hatchell, of Lincoln, Nebraska; son, Brian Romero, of League City, Texas; daughter, Catherine Kehoe, of Houston, Texas; and several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and grandchildren.
A Memorial Service, celebrating the life of Debbie, will be Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 1:00PM, in the Chapel of Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Boulevard, Katy, Texas 77494.
In lieu of usual floral remembrances, memorials may be made in Debbie’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6055 South Loop East, Houston, Texas 77087-1005.
