June 29, 1940 – July 2, 2025
Elissa Elliott passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born on June 29, 1940 in Houston, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Jack and Lily Shainock. Elissa was raised in a loving home and shared a close bond with her sister, Maralyn Cohen.
Elissa’s early years were marked by warmth, a sharp wit, and a strong work ethic that would guide her throughout her life. Her career began with a spark of entrepreneurship when she co-founded Carrousel Productions with her dear friend Dotti Varnell in the early 1980s. Carrousel, a screen printing and advertising specialty company, quickly became a reflection of Elissa’s talent, passion, and natural ability to connect with others. Her commitment to excellence earned her not only the loyalty of clients, many of whom became lifelong friends, but also the respect and admiration of her employees. Elissa mentored many during their first jobs and took great pride in helping others find their footing.
In the early 2000s, Elissa closed Carrousel and joined her husband, Jack Elliott, at Sunline Products. There, she continued to pursue her passion and played a key role in growing the company to nearly fifty employees. After more than four decades of hard work and dedication, Elissa retired, choosing to devote her time to the family she loved so dearly.
Elissa is survived by her husband, Jack Elliott; her children, Candy Epstein Marks and husband Stuart Marks, Jeff Epstein and wife Pam Epstein, and Scott Carr and wife Coleen Carr; and her stepson, Mark Elliott and wife Yanet Elliott. She was the proud grandmother of Jordan Epstein, Austin Marks, Mitchell Epstein, Brandon Marks, Andrea Carr, Avery Elliott, and Dean Elliott. She is also survived by her sister Maralyn Cohen and her children, Gregg Fleishman, Jill Fleishman, and Bruce Fleishman.
Elissa adored her family and was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with them, and the special companionship with her beloved dog Bailey. Elissa was a woman of strength, generosity, and deep compassion. Her legacy of love, mentorship, and entrepreneurial spirit will continue to live on in all who knew her.
If so desired, memorial contributions may be made in Elissa’s honor to Knots of Love at
