Manuela "Nellie" Aguilar

She was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nellie was born and raised in Ackerly, Texas. She was the only surviving child of Flora Franco and Eluterio Valencia.

Nellie was married to Pvt. Rafael V. Aguilar on May 29, 1944. They moved to San Antonio to raise their children. Nellie loved spending time with her family and creating beautiful floral arrangements.

Nellie was always the head cook at any restaurant/baker that her husband opened in San Antonio and Katy, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents Flora and Eluterio Valencia, her sisters Arcolana Hernandez, Ramona Ornelas, Tasha Valencia, her brothers Sabino, Eluterio Jr., Jose, Leandro, Roberto and Gergorio, grandchild Rudy Jr., husband SSgt. Raphael V. Aguilar, her sons Freddy, and Antonio, and her daughter Josephina. She is survived by her daughter Rosa A. Sargent, sons Robert, Raphael Jr., Richard, Rudy and Freddy Aguilar. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Her family would like to give special thanks to Dr. S. Mohammed for the excellent care he gave her throughout her years, and Minnie Rodriguez, Rosy Romo, and Letty Salcedo for the loving care and companionship they provided Nellie in her twilight years. Additionally, the family would like to thank Maria Cazares RN for the expert clinical care, and Vantage Hospice for their guidance and support in Nellie's final days.
