With deep respect and tender remembrance, we honor the life of Miguel Carrizales, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose presence brought warmth and steady kindness to all who knew him.
Born in Laredo, Texas and raised in Brownsville, Texas, Miguel carried the pride of his hometown throughout his life. He attended Hanna High School, graduating from the US Army, and continued his education at Texas Southmost College, building a foundation that would guide his strong work ethic and dedication to service.
Miguel devoted his career to working as an Assembly Mechanic for government vehicles, where his skill, precision, and reliability earned the respect of colleagues and supervisors alike. Upon retirement, he embraced the opportunity to spend even more time with those he loved most.
On March 8, 1980, Miguel married the love of his life, Maria de la Cruz Vera, at Iglesia Cristiana Evangelica in Brownsville, Texas. Their marriage of enduring devotion and partnership stood as a beautiful example of faith, commitment, and unconditional love.
Miguel was best known for his kind heart and his joyful, silly spirit that could brighten any room. He gave generously and quietly, never seeking recognition. His home was always open to family, and there was always a place at his table. Family will fondly remember the comfort of his homemade cornbread, prepared with care for those he cherished.
He found great happiness in life’s simple adventures. Whether attending festivals, visiting theme parks, strolling through local parks, or setting out on family outings, Miguel delighted in exploring new places around town. He enjoyed word-find puzzles, watching documentaries, and discovering something new wherever he went.
Above all, Miguel treasured time with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria de la Cruz Vera Carrizales; his daughters, Monica Carrizales Douglas and Myra Carrizales Lopez; his son-in-law, Jorge Lopez; his cherished grandchildren, Alicia Devon Douglas, Andrea Lopez, Francisco Miguel Lopez, Maria Elena Lopez, and Mariella Myra Lopez; his sister, Alicia Carrizales Perez; and his brother, Juan Carrizales Jr.
He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Carrizales; his mother, Petra Galvan Carrizales; and his brother, Daniel Carrizales.
Miguel’s legacy is one of quiet generosity, unwavering love, and joyful presence. His laughter, his open door, and his steadfast devotion to family will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
