Ouida "Lavern" Gibson Goodman

Lavern retired from the Louisiana Department of Labor after 20 years of service. She cherished her family and enjoyed all aspects of her family life.

Lavern was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Lamar Gibson, and her loving husband, Joseph Sinclair Goodman, Sr. She is survived by her son, Roy “Bert” Schmidt, Jr. and wife Karen. Her sister, Myrt Vick and five grandchildren, Taasha Taylor, Shambree Gray and husband Darren, Keesha Rizzolo and husband Ralph, Jessica Briggs and Amanda Briggs, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Greenoaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815. The Funeral service and entombment will follow.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joel Safer, Don Landry, Randy Vick, Michael Vick, Mackie Vick and Stephen Vick.
