Patricia was born in Valparaiso, Florida on September 10, 1947. With her father Lt Thomas Grant Ray an Officer in the Air Force, and her mother Mary Ethel (Jo) Ray, brother Tommy and sister Kathy, they lived throughout the US and were stationed in Germany for a time. Patricia had the opportunity to explore much of Europe. The family returned to the US and settled in Albuquerque, NM where Patricia graduated from Sandia High School. Her parents retired there.
While in Albuquerque, Patricia met Bradley Wright; they fell in love and married October 14, 1965. The Wrights soon moved to Las Cruces, NM for Bradley to attend New Mexico State University and their first child, Christine, was born there. Bradley then began a career at Shell Oil Company taking them to CO, LA, and TX. During this time Brandon and Adrienne were welcomed to the family.
Patricia was a loving mother and homemaker. She loved Jesus and dedicated her life to Bradley and their family, always extending comforting motherly love and guidance to any who needed a kind word. She was compassionate, loving and gracious to all she met.
She used her creative skills on pencil and chalk drawings, paintings and sewing. Her daughter Christine fondly remembers the matching dresses she made for them. Their backyard landscaping showed her love of gardening. Patricia was also a lover of the arts and theater. Wherever she lived she enjoyed hiking, biking and exploring, but admittedly her time in Colorado was the perfect place to enhance her hobbies!
Patricia is survived by brother and sister-in-law Tom and Anne Ray of Tampa Bay, FL; husband Bradley Wright of Katy, TX; three children, daughter Christine Wright of Blacksburg, VA; son Brandon Wright and wife Evelyn of Phoenix, AZ; daughter Adrienne Gilpin and husband Robert of Katy, TX; grandchildren Evan Scott of Ann Arbor, MI; Connor Scott of Blacksburg, VA; Savannah Wright and Lucas Wright of Phoenix, AZ and Genevieve Gilpin of Katy, TX.
Patricia was a wonderful wife of 57 years to Bradley, a loving mother and grandmother and dedicated to her extended family. We are saddened with her leaving this earthly world, but know that Jesus, her parents and sister are welcoming her home to Heaven. May Jesus keep her close to Him for all eternity.
in lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital
