Peggy was born on January 16th, 1946, in Fort Worth, Texas to Mary Francis and Charles Rohde. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and older sister, Mary Francis Timm. She is survived by her two sons Mark (Maryellen) and Matt (Shannon) and her 4 grandchildren: William, Katherine, Briana, and Hondo. She is also survived by her brother, nieces, nephews, and her beloved rescue dog, Tater Tot.
Peggy grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from Pascal High School. Peggy later completed a degree in Interior Design from Texas Christian University while balancing a part-time job and raising her children who were then in middle and high school.
Peggy then applied her university education to a 25+ year career with the United States Corps of Engineers as an interior designer. She excelled at the “Corps” earning multiple awards and was various General’s go-to person to address construction site issues or handle unusual projects such as the B-1 bomber aircraft maintenance hangar interior design. Her special skill was delivering what soldiers needed while simultaneously keeping Generals happy. Her career at the Corps also allowed her to pursue her dream of living near the beach when she transferred to the Savannah, Georgia office.
Peggy was an avid reader with an extensive library of gardening and recipe books. Her ideas were usually far grander than her implementation, and so was usually surrounded by various sketches, samples, and materials ready for half a dozen projects. She enjoyed being outside whether riding her bicycle or reading on the beach. Her adult life centered on her boys and her grandchildren as she delighted in every hour she spent with them.
Peggy’s life will be celebrated by a graveside service on July 15th, 2023, at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Yoakum, Texas where she will be interned next to her parents. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Children’s Art Project (childrensartproject.org)
