Peggy Jane Stern

Peggy Jane Kaths Stern was born October 13th, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri. Through her years she lived in many different places: Wichita, Dallas, Topeka, California, Georgia, Germany, Illinois, San Antonio, Colorado Springs, and Northern Virginia. Finally, in the fall of 1994, Peggy settled in Houston to be close to her twin sister Patty Johnson. She is preceded in death by her father, Fred Kaths; her mother, Ruth Kaths; her step-mother, Mildred Kaths; and her brother, Bill Kaths.

She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply: her oldest son David and his wife Donna; her younger son Jim, his wife Brooke, and their children, Collin and Claire; her significant other, Mike Kannady and his children Terry and Matt, Matt’s wife Kayleigh and family; her twin sister Patty Johnson and her husband Bill and their children Nick and Monica Heintz and family, David and Karen Hinsley, Shane and Jill Whitaker and family, Chuck and Liz Gurley and family, and Frank Johnson and family; her brother Jim Kaths and his wife Cecilia and their son Craig; her step-brothers Robert and Mike Adams and their wives Sue and Snook respectively.

In the final years of her life, God blessed Peggy with an exceptional medical staff who very patiently took care of her. To Drs. Asaduddin and Faruki, Alma Hollis her nurse, Drew Jarrett her physical therapist, and Sandra Norris her hospice nurse, our family says a heartfelt thank you for your care and love of our mother, sister, aunt, and Gigi.
