My husband and I were neighbors, I am so sorry to hear of Rich’s passing, we were neighbors for 15 years. He and his wife were such kind souls! We would talk often on our walks on the lake. When his wife passed, he would talk of the devastation of losing her, I know she was waiting arms open for him at the gates, they are living in peace in God’s arms.

I was so sorry to hear about Richie's passing. You have my most sincere condolences. Many of us in his Shell family will miss him! I knew Richie for almost 50 years. He was blessed with an outgoing personality, and he shared with all his love for his family - Regina, children and grandchildren. Richie was truly one of my best friends at Shell, and I will miss him. I mourn his death, but hope he is in a special place God has prepared for him.

Richie was my first boss at Shell, when I started in 1985.  He was a great boss and I don't remember any negative conversations.  He loved to joke around and he was a lot of fun.  He loved to brag about how he never wore a coat, no matter how cold or rainy it was.  He would just walk fast to get into the building.  He was always entertaining to talk to - he was full of great stories!  I worked for Richie for 4 years and then I transferred to another group in the department, so I would still bump into him a lot. 

 I worked for Shell for 30 years and I retired in 2015.  When I retired, he let me know about the Shell retiree luncheons that he hosted every 3 months and I enjoyed going to those when I could.   Shortly after I retired, I got invited to a small group of Shell retired women in Sugar Land and we would get together for lunches periodically.  Then we decided to open up our group to men and women and now it's grown to  over 100 people.  Richie enjoyed attending our Sugar Land Shell retiree lunches and catching up with everyone and we will definitely miss his smiling face and fun stories.  I am so sorry for your loss.
  

Paul and I are so sorry for your loss. He loved all of you so much and always told of his grandchildren’s accomplishments,. Try to find some comfort in the fact that he is once again joined with your mother. Prayers for all of you in this time of grief 

We loved Richie.  We called him Richie Rich!  We enjoyed playing golf with him.  He said he hadn’t golfed for 5 years and then he hits his first tee shot 200 yards down the middle!
We also enjoyed walking with him in the neighborhood and hearing his stories.  We will miss him dearly.  I have comfort knowing he is in heaven with his beloved wife.    We are very sorry for the family’s loss and pray for comfort and peace for you.  Love Bob, Patti and Joey

Dear family of Richie. I’m so sorry to hear of Richie’s passing. I met him over 50 yrs ago when Regina invited my boyfriend, at the time and me , to take a trip  to upstate New York. It was a beautiful Sunday morning and Richie was driving a 65? mustang convertible, dark green with black interior.  It was a long trip, a couple of hours and we stopped at Howe Caverns. There was one area thar had a heart shaped stone on the ground, flat from wear. As it turned out Richie and Regina were standing on the stone unaware. The tour guide was talking and stopped when he noticed them on the stone holding hands. The guide said,” It is legend, that anyone standing on this stone , eventually marry and have a happy life.”  They were so in love then and after their marriage their love only grew stronger. 
I haven’t spoken with them for years, saw them a few times at family events, but as time keeps us busy with our own families and children we didn’t keep in touch very often. I spoke with Regina a few times before she got very sick and Richie and I kept in contact on Facebook and shared our thought on the political situation. Anyone who knew Richie, knows what his views were. 
Richie is now reunited with the love of his  life.

To Kristen, Rich and Tommy:  I can’t recall how many years we were your neighbors on Appleby.   Prior to that, my sister, Virginia had the pleasure of being your neighbor.  My regret is that we didn’t spend enough time with your parents.   Regina and Richie were the kindest, most loving couple we have ever met.    We knew we could always count on them for anything.   Busy raising our 2 little ones and working full time, just wasn’t enough time on the weekends to enjoy their company.   We would give anything to be able to turn back the clock and spend more time with them.    It’s only now, as we’re older, that we realize the importance of family and friends and the value of taking time to “smell the roses!”.    Although we lost touch through the years, we have never forgotten your wonderful family.   Our prayers are with you all and your families.   We know how difficult it is to lose a brother, a father, a grandpa!   Love from Gloria & Gilbert Rodriguez, daughter Danielle and son Eric.   

I met Richie when I first joined Shell in 1997. I remember him as a kind man with a great sense of humor. My condolences to the family. 

We are so thankful for our lifetime of love and memories  with you. Over the last 49 years we shared dinners, family activities and lots of travel. 

Now as you are reunited with your beloved Regina, we are happy for you. Our hearts will have a void without you, but we know you are in GREAT hands. Our love for you and your wonderful family will be eternal.

Dear Weck family, I was so sorry to hear that Richie passed away. I had the great honor to work with Richie over the years at Shell. Richie was a mentor and a friend. The first time I met Richie he was a knight in shining armor who rode to the rescue and worked day and night to resolve a Billion dollar imbalance in a financial system. The project was in crisis and Richie and I worked side by side to debug and reprogram the entire system. Richie always was a joy to work with, always optimistic, can do attitude.  Richie was young at heart and lived life to the fullest.   I can remember talking to him, reviewing his pension and telling him life is too short. Please retire but he loved his work the challenge of it all.   When he retired, I lost track but was able to reconnect with him for dinner a year after his wife passed away.  He was heartbroken.  My dad was in hospice at the time and we shared memories and cried together. I know that he is now with your mom in heaven.  

Richie was involved with my Shell life many times over the years.  The most enjoyable happened in the late 90s when we were traveling buddies for many months for a Shell Chemicals project.  During that time, we shared laughs, confidences, and discovered a great New Orleans restaurant together by accident (where we ate once a week for over 2 months, and Richie found a favorite dish that no amount of coaxing from me or the owner could get him to deviate from).   Traveling away from home for months on end can be wearying, but with Richie it was not just bearable.  He made it fun and never a dull moment.

We also got our traveling shoes back together in 2002, when I was just leaving The Netherlands as he was coming over.  We were able to get together several weekends and share more fun together.  He even thought about taking over the lease of my Utrecht apartment, but decided that it was too far from where he would be working in Den Haag.  

My condolences to Richie's family and friends.  The world is a bit less colorful without Richie in it, but there are many wonderful memories that allows him to live continuously in our hearts.

The picture I'm sharing is from Kasteel de Haar near Utrecht.  Richie joined a group of us for a tour of the castle on June 9, 2001.

Deeply saddened to hear this, such a great man and so many found memories.  Always a pleasure to be around and loved just listening to him talk.  He is now with his beloved Regina who he was so passionate about sharing her memories.  The last conversation I had with him was how Regina took her last breath and he honestly broke down in tears.  Never easy to loose a parent, but I know he is happy to see her again.  RIP Mr. Weck you will forever be remembered.  Kristin, Richie and Tommy and your families praying for all you during this time that you will find strength within each other.

Richie graduated high school with both of us and Peg introduced Richie to Regina (she lived down the block from Peg).  We were best friends and spent time together when we were young but then they moved to Houston and we only kept in touch occasionally.
Last year when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor (it was benign, thank God), Richie would call and send me emails asking how I was doing and also inquiring how Rich was doing.  We always enjoyed our telephone conversations and hearing about how the "kids" were doing. I'm grateful that I am Facebook "friends" with Rich, Kristen and Tommy ... we will miss your Dad but we're sure your folks are having a wonderful time together. God bless you all. 

My prayers go out to the family. Richie and I shared an office for many years at the Shell Information Center. We had many laughs in that office. He was more than an office mate; he was a friend. I will always remember his smile. Peaceful Rest, Richie.

I met Richie at Shell Energy where we both worked starting in 1999.   Who knew this working partnership would evolve into a friendship that would last over 20 years!  Richie was more than a co-worker.  He was a mentor who helped me understand the Shell culture, taught me the importance of  preparing detailed business requirements and shared tips about business travel each time we traveled to Atlanta.   One of my favorite memories of Richie is that he always was able to get a front row parking spot on those business trips. When I commented on his consistent luck, he said "Good living pays off!"   His generosity will be remembered and was very much appreciated.  He donated many times to help purchase Easter dresses for the girls at the Amigos de Jesus' Orphanage in Honduras that I visit.  Richie was an amazing host and chef at his dinner parties for his friends.   His friends from Epiphany of the Lord Church will miss him at our Saturday evening dinners after Mass.  I will miss my friend but I am confident he got a front row parking spot in Heaven because he definitely lived a good life!


Richie was my friend.  He was so full of life.  I loved his smile.  We worked together to keep Shell retirees informed.  I will miss him!  God bless you, Richie Weck.

Richie was my dearest friend. We shared so much -- an Eagles concert, Italian dinners, Christmas Day, 2019,  with 15 people where Richie made the tenderloin (he was the only one who knew how to cook it correctly!), snorkeling in Belize in January,  Richie's  Epiphany Saturday night church group of friends, funny movies, his homemade gumbo, chili, and chicken and spaghetti (the best!),  and endless games of Mexican train dominoes.  Most of all,  he shared the wonderful family that he adored:  Rich, Renee', Rianna, Kristen, Bart, Drake, Brandon, Tommy, Shannon, and Brody.  Richie was an awesome dad and granddad --  my best friend.  I loved him.   

Richie came into our lives in the mid-90s while we were vacationing in the Florida Keys. We all had an instant connection. Although we lived many miles apart, we stayed in touch over the years. Richie and our friend Judy visited us last summer here in Wisconsin. We had perfect September weather and enjoyed his visit immensely. He was a special soul with endless generousity and compassion for others. Ken and I will miss him dearly and know that he is smiling now that he has been reunited with his wife, the love of his life.

Dear Kristen, Bart, Richie, Renee, Tommy, Shannon, Drake, Brandon, Rianna and Brodie,
Omigoodness, we just heard and our hearts are broken. 
We send each of you our love and our prayers. He loved you so!  We feel like we know each of you from all the family joy he shared with us. 
Richie was such a fine man. Love of you guys, love of his friends, and that everlasting love of Regina just bubbles up and out of him at all times. He was so proud of each of you - he bragged on you all!  
He held our sweet Shell dinner group together, doggedly working to find dates we could all gather. We all felt his love and concern. And we loved his company - and his energy - and his tales of cruises and adventures. He hosted us so beautifully even after your mom was gone. She had taught him well!

Richie was a gentle soul and a delightful conversationalist. 
I knew him through my sister, who was a co-worker of Richie's. Whenever I saw him, he always took the time to talk with me and share a kind word or a funny story. His upbeat approach to life brightened any day.

Some of my fondest memories are of the fun European trips with Regina when we lived in The Hague and the dinners with our Shell group of friends plus the get togethers with Bryan and Charlie. You brought joy, happiness and laughter to all your friends; you will be sorely missed by them. For the ones left behind,  our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I worked in Oil and Gas Accounting at Shell from 1981-89.  Richie would come and consult with my team and I always enjoyed his visits.  Richie was a lot of fun to talk to and had a wonderful smile.  He always made my day brighter with his positive and amusing conversation and I will miss him. 

Richie came to visit us when we moved to Connecticut last year.  It was so much fun and he was so excited to spend time with us.  We enjoyed an Italian festival, cabaret show and great dinners in NY.  The best was just spending time and catching up... We always made time to catch up when we lived in Houston, he would make Bryan’s favorite dish of Ribs and red beans and rice w/sausage and for me (wine)... We were so blessed to have him and Regina in our lives... We were honored to have them witness our private ceremony in their home.  
Caring is a word I would use to describe Richie!  We will miss you but we know you are now in a place of joy!!

Fred & I enjoyed attending Shell activities with your parents. I am so sorry for your loss. God's peace, comfort & strength as you walk through your grief.
