Roberta Ann Boyd

She was born June 9, 1935 in Hastings, Minnesota to Oscar and Edith Davies and grew up in Torrance, California. She met her future husband, Donald Boyd, when he served as an intern at First Lutheran Church in Torrance.

Roberta was a partner and helpmate to Donald’s ministry at numerous churches across the country. She was active in Lutheran women’s groups, teaching Bible studies, and planning potluck dinners and socials at church. She considered it a privilege to serve two terms on the Bishop’s Synodical Stewardship Committee. Decorating and interior design were a special talent and pleasure for her that were on display in the picture-perfect homes she created wherever the family lived. She enjoyed reading and worked at the local library for a number of years. She found great pleasure in volunteering as a Pink Lady at Christus Spohn Hospital in Kingsville, Texas. She and Donald moved to Katy, Texas in 2007.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Reverend Donald Boyd; their children, Robin (Lee) Pantermuehl of Katy, Texas , Joel (Penelope) Boyd of Newport News, Virginia, Raven Boyd of Clute Texas, Micah Boyd of Bull City, Arizona and Ren (Charles) Royal of Katy, Texas; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and her sister, Marquita (Charles) Keach of El Cajon, California.
