This is a wallpaper Soleila had made of us which meant so much to me at the time. I didn’t know a friendship could be so special, and this wallpaper perfectly encapsulates our moments, how they were always just a bright and great time whether we laughed or shared music or just merely hung out and chilled. I’ll never forget those fun and easy days.

Right after we froze our butts off volunteering for the Houston Marathon.

We had both bought matching vests that I still have to this day.

That one time we went to Academy and it’s one of my favorite memories of us because we just goofed off and laughed so much in that store 😂🤍.

It’s so hard to believe you’re not here anymore. So many people are missing you, but what I keep holding onto are the times we laughed until our stomachs hurt, joked about the dumbest things, and ate way too much food like we always did. You had this way of turning some of the hardest years into the funniest and best memories.

You were an amazing friend, and I’m so thankful I got to make those memories with you. I’m lucky to call you a friend. Your smile was contagious, your jokes somehow always landed, and you lit up every room without even trying.

I hope you’re happy where you are now. You did so much in your life and I’ll always be grateful for it. You always put other people first, even when you probably needed it more yourself. That’s something I’ll never forget about you.

I think about you everyday and I look at your photo in my wallet. I couldn’t have been more blessed with being able to call you little sis. You were not only special to the crew but my family as well.  I remember just coming home and you’d be hanging out in the kitchen talking to my mother while my grandmother did your hair. The times you spent playing with  Brody and just being so excited  because it felt as though you were around your siblings. I was grateful enough to not only have you spend my 31st with me but I was able to spend your 21st with you. How excited we were every time we saw each other and we’d hug and I’d say there’s my girl and we would sit and talk for forever. When you’d come over for the holidays to the house to a warm cooked meal and you would smile from ear to ear. Though it may have only been a year we’ve known each other but to me it felt like a lifetime. You were so funny and quick with the comebacks every single time. The way you were so artistic and you placed top 3 in the coast guard for the video you created about the crew.  I couldn’t say it enough but you will truly be missed and when I move forward in this career it’s for you. Please continue to watch over us but especially your family.  We love you!🫶🏽🪽

To the one who made me know what going the extra mile really is. You were worth every minute, second, and moment. I will miss our chats and you giving me grief about my wardrobe selections. I never got that painting you promised me but, I took the sunset the other day as your offering. Your shipmates and I will miss you wholeheartedly  until we meet again. Keep it lively up there playa. She was the only one that got Lt. Meow to make biscuits. Loved hearing her when I would call my daughter and they were hanging out. She was loved and will be missed.

You were one of my closest friends in high school and were among the first to accept me without reservation. I looked up to you a lot and always looked forward to seeing you in class. You were the light of my morning during econ and gov and helped me get through senior year. I’ll miss you forever

We spent the entire summer together during this year before I had to go back home to Louisiana and Denny's HATED to see us coming late at night. Despite us living 5 hours apart, we never failed to check up on each other through facetime calls and count down the days until I visited Katy just so we could go be big backs again.

On this day we made matching friendship bracelets together in the park and had a chik fil a picnic♥️♥️♥️ I will miss you♥️♥️♥️ thank you for making everyone around you feel included and so very loved

I think this picture sums up our entire friendship perfectly. Solei, from the first night we played volleyball by your house to me breaking your house light with a basketball and profusely apologizing to your dad about it, from then on I knew you were going to be one of the most important people in my life. You were the easiest person to talk to about anything, listened without judgement and always with full support. Your endless jokes followed by countless laughter will forever be engraved into my memory. There was never a dull moment spent with you and I'm glad I had the pleasure of knowing you in this timeline. Love you forever big dawg <3

One of my most cherished friendships. From our heb sushi & cake runs, our hours long gaming sessions, sharing songs & art, the random FaceTime calls, reminiscing on our high school days, playing pickleball last summer, sending each other dexter & milo pics🐶!! I love you so so SO dearly Soleila. We never failed to laugh together!! I remember thinking back in 2022, how will I be if I can’t contact you for an entire month at training, but you never failed to make my day and surprised me at work the night before you left. Gosh, these memories I hold so closely. To have known her was to love her. My Solei lei, Bsizz misses you!!

You posted this on Snapchat before your flight to training for the Coast Guard as you knew you wouldn’t be able to answer for a month. In all honesty, I used it then and I will continue to do so. W.W.S.D. ❤️

As goofy as always!! You never failed to put a smile on my face. The amount of facetime photos I have of you is almost alarming. I’m glad that I always felt like I needed to capture the moments I had with you.

You always looked so professional in your uniform. I used to have you send pictures like this to me so I could admire you like a proud mom.

Your soul is truly beautiful - inside and out. I am eternally grateful that I got to spend so many important moments with you by my side.

Homecoming 2021. We ate and we ATE. We always seemed to be eating when we hung out, so it was only fitting that we took hoco pictures in the H-Mart in Katy Asian Town (another spot we frequently ate).

First day of senior year!! We finally had lunch together again - the first and last time was in eighth grade when we met. It’s safe to say it was a very eventful lunch group, but we laughed harder than any other table in that cafeteria. You made that lunch break something I looked forward to every single day.

My sweet, sweet Soleila. I can’t believe I’m writing this right now - it doesn’t feel real. It feels like you’re just pulling another joke, but of course you’re not. You were taken much too early from this world and I can’t begin to fathom how unfair it is. How unfair it is that your smiling face and silly antics aren’t around to brighten people’s days. How unfair it is that all of our good times will forever be memories now. How unfair it is that your talent and your beauty and your laugh have become only a sweet thought. You’ve not been gone long, but you have made an incredible impact. I will forever cherish our fun moments - Powderpuff practices, running down the hallways in 8th grade, food runs, prom, amusing lunch conversations, summer sand volleyball, goofing off in chemistry, random yet thorough facetime calls, and so much more. But most of all, I will forever cherish you. Even on your hardest days you were a breath of fresh air. The brightest face in any room. You worked so much harder than you could have ever given yourself credit for and are truly a role model. Throughout our years together, we’ve supported each other. You’ve been my shoulder to lean on, my person to cry with, my role model, my reason to laugh, but most of all you’ve been my best friend. Over the past couple years I’ve been used to you going MIA because of your work in the Coast Guard, but I don’t think I’ll ever get used to you being gone. With you by my side I felt like I could truly accomplish anything. You were such a guiding force for so long - it’s going to be a hard adjustment. But I will do it, and I will do it for you. I know you wouldn’t have wanted me to grieve for long, but you’ll have to forgive me for this process. You truly were such a blessing to be around and I cannot emphasize how grateful I am for the time I’ve spent with you. I know you’re in a better place and for that I am at peace. Soleila was such a bright and happy person. She always made my day better and I’m so thankful to have had her in my life. The laughter in this video says everything!

Soleila and I used to eat lunch together everyday in high school. One of my favorite memories was walking to lunch together and listening to Pumped Up Kicks, we did this everyday and never got tired of the song. At the end of math class I’d queue our song and hand her my left airpod and we’d walk to lunch. The first day we did this Soleila was getting tired of listening to my music in class and she told me she had the “perfect song.” We lined up at the door and she pressed play and we made it a tradition every day from then on.

We were all hanging out in the room and they were playing around while the boat was rocking. I remember we also ate some spicy buldak ramen and ran around afterwards from the spiciness laughing. She knew how to light up the room and was always smiling everywhere she went. I’ll never forget the last time I saw her right before I went off to A-school when she hugged me and told me I can call her if I needed anything or someone to talk to. She made a big impact on all of our lives and I think of her when I go to work now and remember her for the good.

I hope you know your daughter was an amazing person she always knew how to make someone’s day better and always get people motivated she was one of my best friends I couldn’t have asked for a better friend
