Sylvia Leilani Bello

Sylvia “Candy” Leilani Cannon Bello, of Katy, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday February 12, 2021. Sylvia grew up in Houston and graduated from Reagan High School. She worked as a legal secretary for over 20 years.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Cannon; father, Alvis Cannon; sister, Shirley Hillebrandt; loving companion, Robert “Bobby” Bello; along with numerous other loved ones. Left behind to cherish her memory are her son Chris Belunek and fiancé, Cara Hamilton; daughter, Jennifer Jones and husband, Ron; stepdaughters, Kimberly Paskie, Jerri Bello and Tina Bello; sisters, Mary Cannon and Cynthia Roland; brother, Bill Cannon and wife, Doris. Sylvia also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. In addition, Sylvia leaves behind her beloved dog Lucy and many loving extended family members and friends.

Sylvia was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always placed others before herself, even in her final days. She was an amazing and beautiful woman both inside and out. She had a strong will to live, overcoming many adversities without ever complaining or giving up. She was a social butterfly and her laughter and personality were contagious. She gave her love and comfort to so many people over the years and brightened up everyone’s life she touched. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed reading crime novels and watching crime shows. She also enjoyed participating in social events and group activities with her senior living community. She was and will continue to be an inspiration to us all for living life to the fullest and not letting anything get in her way.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to friends and family for their kind words, and expressions of love as she loved everyone and her memory will live on.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Rio Grande Chapel of Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77494.
