Terry was born on September 8th, 1951 to Eva Jean Stephenson Hope and Frank Hope Jr in Atlanta, Georgia.
Terry is survived by the love of his life Sharyn Koonce Hope of Katy, Texas. Terry and Sharyn were married on September 23rd 1988. Terry was the proud father of Kelsey, (Andrew Bender of Houston, Texas) Tara, (Peter Drury of Katy, Texas), Courtney (Widower Bryant Roy of Austin, Texas) and Brandon (Claire Yancey of Keller, Texas) as well as the beloved Pop-Pop to Cheyenne, Charlotte, Thomas, Davis, Scarlett, Hailey, Ben and Melody. Terry is also survived by his sister Sue Hope, brother Mark (Kathy Hope of Atlanta, Georgia) and cousins Joe (Denise Samples of Atlanta, Georgia) and Jon (Rhonda Samples of Atlanta, Georgia)
Terry is preceded in death by his daughter Courtney, father Frank, mother Jean and his beloved Uncle Ed and Aunt Irene Samples.
Terry was a creative writer, a lover of animals, the family comedian, and an avid poker player and outdoorsman. He especially loved golfing, fishing and chasing thunderstorms and firetrucks so as to never miss an opportunity for adventure. He loved exploring anything and everything, and driving for hours to nowhere in particular on his famous walkabout drives, usually with his daughters in tow. He was also well known for his Three A.M. Family Waffle House Runs at which attendance was mandatory.
Terry was a hard working man who lived for his family, cherished his wife, doted on his children and spoiled his grandchildren. Our hearts are heavy but our hope in Heaven gives us the promise of being reunited there together as a family once more when we are called Home to join him.
"Ah the secrets people keep. Mine makes the sun shine bright, takes the hurt from the pain and the pain from the hurt, makes cloudy skies look blue, sends mist over the water and makes the dead man shout with glee. Makes the dark of night your friend and the scary monsters run in fear. Turns water into wine and wine into cool refreshing water. Puts fun into life and bright into dull. Makes the mind wander in delight and your eyes shine with amazement. I'd love to share this astonishing bit of dazzlement with you, my most trusted confidant and loyal friend and love, but alas it's a secret." -Terry Hope
