

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vincent Erik Bruce, born on October 3, 2000, in Panama City, FL. Vincent was raised in Oklahoma City, OK, and later called Katy, TX, home. A beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, Vincent touched the lives of many with his kindness, friendliness, and courage. He passed away on August 29, 2024, at the age of 23, leaving a legacy of love, loyalty, and service that will be forever cherished.
Vincent began his education at Community Christian School in Norman, OK, where his Christian values were nurtured and his character recognized with the Christian Character Award. His high school years were spent at Tompkins High School in Katy, TX, where he excelled academically, athletically, and socially. He was the National Honor Society Chapter President, a member of the varsity cross country team, served on the Student Council, and was part of the Yearbook Staff. For his outstanding leadership and service, he received the Falcon Award at Tompkins.
His dedication to his faith and community was evident through his participation in the Boy Scouts of America, where he achieved the prestigious Eagle Scout rank and earned multiple honors, including the Arrow of Light Award, Duty to God Award, and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He also graduated from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ Seminary program.
After high school, Vincent pursued his education at BYU-Idaho and the University of Houston, driven by his passion for learning and personal growth. He worked as an Assistant Store Manager at HEB, where he was known for his hardworking spirit and dedication to his team.
An avid Lego collector and lifelong Marvel fan, especially of Spider-Man, Vincent found joy in simple pleasures. He loved playing Zelda, hiking and camping in nature, and sharing his love for the outdoors. Whether writing comic strips or baking treats for loved ones, he was always spreading joy and warmth. One of his favorite pastimes was watching and critiquing films, and he especially treasured family vacations and FaceTime sessions with his brothers in Utah, playing video games together and staying connected despite the distance. He also loved spending time joking and laughing with his sister, Paulina, a bond they shared throughout their lives. His favorite color was blue, which matched his calm and friendly nature.
Vincent served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Las Vegas, Nevada, his dedication to serving others remained unwavering during his time there.
Vincent is survived by his loving parents, Sean and Erika Bruce, his cherished siblings Patrick, Dominick, and Paulina Bruce, and his adored maternal grandparents Lucy Quick and Mario Ruiz, as well as his paternal grandparents Randy and Brenda Bruce. His beloved bearded dragon Lagartijo, who passed away a few years ago, was the only pet he ever owned and held a special place in his heart. Vincent will be deeply missed by his family and the countless friends whose lives he touched.
Vincent will always be remembered for his generous spirit, his love of reading, his passion for writing, and his quiet acts of courage. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire all who were blessed to cross his path.
