Vivian Sepe, 80, died peacefully, Monday, July 18th, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Vivian was born October 27, 1941 in Bridgeport CT. She was the third daughter of Leonard and Anna Verrilli. Her mother had seen the movie “Gone with the Wind” and decided to name her after the leading actress, Vivian Leigh. Anna (Noni, as she was affectionately known) was busy running Verrilli’s Piano and Organs, a successful business that she started at a time when it was rare for women to be entrepreneurs. As a result, Vivian’s eldest sister, Norma Verrilli, acted more as a mother to her and her middle sister, Nina Pellegrino shared a bedroom with her until Norma went off to college. She grew up in a musical family and loved going to the movies and acting in plays that her sister wrote and directed. She dreamt of being discovered and moving to California to become a movie star but chose a more practical life. While attending the University of Bridgeport, she met the love of her life, George Sepe and they married on July 3, 1962. Together, they happily raised their 2 children, Christine (Guy) Martin and Damon (Nia) Sepe in Trumbull, CT. In their senior years, they moved to Richmond, TX where they enjoyed being close to their 3 Grandchildren, Patrick and George Sepe of Sugarland, TX, Katherine (Derek) Vargas of Seguin, TX and their great grandchild, Walter Vargas. Vivian was a teacher for most of her life, beginning and ending her career teaching piano. Mid-way through her life, she went back to school to get her teaching degree and taught 4th grade at Fawn Hollow Elementary School in Monroe, CT. Vivian loved her family very deeply. Holidays were always a family affair with grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins and an abundance of food, music and laughter. She spoke with her sisters Norma and Nina every day and was happiest when her son and daughter were around her. There are few people in this world who enjoy cleaning more than Vivian did. She waxed floors and cabinets, shined glasses and kept the house spotless. She also enjoyed gardening and her yard was always filled with plants and flowers. She was an excellent cook and we will never forget the tremendous Italian dinners she made for her family. Vivian’s neighbors will miss seeing her walking her beloved miniature schnauzers around the neighborhood, regardless of the weather. With a lifetime dedication to health and fitness, as well as a few Centenarians on her mother’s side, leaving us so soon was the last thing we expected. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Monday, August 1st at 10:00 AM at St Lawrence Catholic Church, 3100 Sweetwater Blvd, Sugar Land, TX. There will be a light lunch served in the Parish Hall after the funeral service courtesy of the Ladies Guild. Relatives and friends are invited to join us.
