

A native of Texas, Willie served in the United States Army from January 31, 1969 to February 4, 1971. His tenure in the United States Army included a tour in Vietnam from June 25, 1969 to June 23, 1970. He later became one of the best truck drivers in the world.
Willie loved the Lord and rarely started his day out without prayer and ending it studying the Holy Bible. Willie was predeceased by his parents, brother Jack Munks, and daughters Aretha Wilson and Tasha Lewis.
Surviving him are his wife of 13 years Sylvia Wilson, daughters Camellia (Rodney) Sneed, Kimberly (George) Jetson, LaTasha Jackson, sisters Rose (Henry) Banks, Barbara Brown, Ruth (Michael) Fosha, brother Milton Wilson, sister-in-law Emma Alexander, brother-in-law Clifton Wells, two stepsons, one step daughter, eight grandchildren, fourteen step grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 16, from 10:00-11:00am; home going service 11:00-12:00pm; Repass 12:00-1:20pm at Encourager Church, 10950 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77043. Burial services will follow at the VA National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
