

She was born in Springfield, MA, June 1, 1924, the daughter of John and Anna (Krajewski) Sadowski. She grew up in Hinsdale, NH where she attended local schools, graduating in 1942 from Hinsdale High School as class valedictorian.
Mrs. Fairbanks worked for 12 years as a bookkeeper for the H.W. Taylor Hardware and Plumbing Company of Hinsdale. A resident of Keene for over fifty years, Mrs. Fairbanks, enjoyed her role as homemaker for many years before returning to work as a cashier and server with the school lunch program at Keene High School.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church in Keene and a member of the Richard P. Gilbo Knights of Columbus Council 5414 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and knitting.
She is survived by her two daughters, JoAnn M. Maynard and her husband, Kenneth A., of Surry, NH, Carol A. Adler and her husband, Douglas C., of Walpole, NH; two brothers, Stanley Sadowski of Hatfield, MA, George Sadowski and his wife, Janet, of Deerfield, MA; sister-in-law, Grace Lavoie of Milford, NH; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; and special friends, Terry Williams and Tim Mason. Her husband of 50 years, Edward A. Fairbanks, whom she married in St. Joseph Church in Hinsdale on August 26, 1950, died August 28, 2000. A sister-in-law, Cindy Sadowski, died June 27, 2009.
A memorial mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM in St. Margaret Mary Church, 33 Arch Street, Keene. Family and friends are welcome. Burial will be in the spring in the Evergreen Cemetery, Winchester, NH. There are no public calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Fairbanks’ memory to St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o Parish of the Holy Spirit, 161 Main Street, Keene, NH 03431.
The Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
