Barry D. King

On April 27, 1949 Buzz came into the world in Keene, NH the son of Charles and Arlene (Warner) King. He grew up in Harrisville and was a 1967 graduate of Marlborough High School. He worked for various businesses in the Monadnock Region including Cheshire Mills and Harrisville Designs, where he was the first employee. Later he worked for more than 20 years for Cheshire County as the Facilities Manager at Maplewood Nursing Home and the Cheshire County Jail.

Buzz loved to be with his friends and family and enjoyed getting to know people wherever he visited. He was also very involved in the community and served as a Selectman for the Town of Harrisville for more than 10 years. He was also a member of the Brentwood Golf Course, where he spent countless hours playing golf and was known for his “hole in one”. He was also a member of the Italian Club in Keene.

When he wasn’t working or playing golf he loved the quiet solitude of surrounding himself with nature: whether he was going hunting or going fishing at Silver Lake. Above all, he loved his family and especially loved being a “Grampy”.

He is survived by his son: Trevor A. King and his wife Maya of Nelson, NH, his grandson: Cameron King, his brother: Charles R. King, Jr. and his wife Marcia of Peterborough, NH, two sisters: Karen Lyons and her husband Dick of Bennington, NH and Linda Putnam and her husband Pat of Harrisville, NH and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is also survived by his ex-wife and dear friend: Paula (Beard) King.

A Celebration of Buzz’s life will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 3 to 5pm at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court St. Keene, NH.
