Ben was born in Bradford, NH on October 6, 1934, the son of Norman and Eva (Ingalls) Brown. He was a resident of the Keene area for most of his life, having lived in Swanzey and most recently Marlborough for the past 20 years. Ben took great pride in everything he did, especially his work. His perseverance led him to establish his own plumbing and heating business, which he successfully operated for over 40 years.
He was a member of the Italian Club in Keene and a communicant at St. Bernard’s Church. Ben’s greatest treasure was his family. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his wife, kids, and most importantly, his grandchildren. Playing cards with family and friends, and fishing were among his favorite pastimes. He loved to travel, never missing a family vacation to the ocean or mountains. In later years, he spent time in Greece and visiting relatives in Italy and traveling to Mexico and throughout the Caribbean. He enjoyed living in Naples and Spring Hills, Florida with his wife during the winter months for over 20 years. Ben was a kind and compassionate individual. His outgoing and friendly personality was evident to everyone who knew him. He was a devoted father who provided a college education for all of his five children. He had an unlimited amount of generosity, donating to several charities throughout the years.
