

He was born June 13, 1952 in Greenville, SC to James H and Sheila C Kennedy, the second of their seven children. Brian is survived by his daughters Maura Kennedy of Melrose, MA and Bevin Coaine Kennedy and her spouse Brian Kaiser of Newmarket as well as grandchildren Aidan, Marielies and Graham. His son Nathanial predeceased him in 2009 as well as his sister Patricia “Boomer” Kennedy last year. He is also survived by siblings Kathleen Kennedy Burke (Edward), Kevin G Kennedy (Sherrie Burt), Gail Demasi (Andrew), Maureen Kennedy, and Constance Kennedy Lang (Todd) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Educated in Westport, CT and in NH at both Monadnock and Thomas More School, he later attended the NH Fire Academy in Laconia and University of Maryland.
Brian served in the United States Navy in the early 70s in Adak, Alaska before being honorably discharged. After the Navy and school, he founded Rainbow North Painting in Fitzwilliam which he ran for many years.
An avid hiker, he summited many peaks in New England including Mt Katahdin with his son. He enjoyed camping, cooking – especially hot and spicy dishes, gardening, many types of music, was a voracious reader and passed on his affinity for contra dancing to his youngest daughter. His matchbox car collection was extensive. He treasured his Irish roots and Catholic heritage. He was inseparable from his little dog Hooli.
There will be a funeral Mass at St Bernard’s Church in Keene on Monday, August 25th at 10:00 am followed by a committal of ashes at the family plot at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Troy. There are no calling hours.
