

He was born in Northfield, VT, February 22, 1941, one of sixteen children to Harold and Ruth (Morrison) Edson. He grew up in Barre, Vermont, and was a resident of Westmoreland for the past 31 years.
At the age of 17, he began driving tractor trailer trucks, a passion he continued for over 50 years as owner and operator of a very successful relocation trucking operation. In his many years as a relocation specialist, traveling across the country, he was able to meet a wide array of people who were most appreciative of his talents and expertise.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed cooking and baking, and listening to country music. He was a very hard worker. He always took the time to stop for a moment and talk to everyone he met. He especially enjoyed attending his grandson’s sporting events.
He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Pering and her husband Douglas of Spofford, NH, two sons, Perry Edson of Swanzey, NH, Shawn Edson of Westmoreland, three grandchildren, Calvin Shawn Edson, Taylor Nichole Edson, Tanner Shawn Edson, three sisters, Pauline Ingham of Barre, VT, Rosie Jones of Tunbridge, VT, Marlene Norton of Barre, his former wife, Stella M. Edson of Westmoreland, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mr. Edson’s life will be held Friday, October 21, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH, with words of remembrance offered by the family at 12:30PM. Burial will be private.
