On March 11, 2026, Caroline Elaine Driscoll passed away peacefully in her home with family at her side. She was 96 and a half years young, the daughter of Raymond and Eva (Hodgkins) Wheeler, and a proud military widow to Joseph Driscoll.
Caroline was born in Keene, NH on October 18, 1929, was raised in Keene, attended Keene High School and went on to nursing school. Married to a military man, the family experienced our country from coast to coast throughout their lives.
Caroline was an entrepreneur and lifelong leader of various organizations such as Cub Scouts, Brownies, 4-H, VFW Women’s Auxiliary, and also started her own Red Hat Society Chapter in Keene.
She had a long history of creativity. She was an amazing artist which is reflected by her paintings on slate, wood and canvas. She loved her garden and playing any games especially card games.
Caroline brought joy to everyone she met. She had an amazing ability to brighten one’s mood within moments of being in her presence. Although she had some difficult times, she was remarkedly resilient and was somehow able to bounce back and emanate infectious happiness to others.
She is survived by her three children, Richard, Diane and John, who gave her seven grandchildren. Her family, both immediate and extended, were the center of her life.
A memorial and celebration of Caroline’s life will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 11:30am at the Keene Country Club, 755 West Hill Road, Keene. All are welcome. Burial in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Avenue, Keene, will be held privately by the family.
