Charles R. Pratt

He was born in West Swanzey, NH on April 5, 1940, the son of Lester and Carrie (Martin) Pratt, and had resided in Keene for a number of years. He graduated from Keene High School, class of 1958.

Mr. Pratt was a veteran having served in the US Navy in 1958 and served twice in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1977.

He worked for the Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic in Keene in the purchasing department, and had worked for the clinic from 1978 until he retired in 2001.

In 1998, he married Eileen (McGowan) in Alstead, NH at the Friendly Meals where they volunteered.

While living in Keene, he was involved for many years with various sports programs in the state. He was also a past coach of the Keene Women’s Softball team called “Charlie’s Angels”.

Mr. Pratt loved going on cruises and to the casinos. He also enjoyed vacationing in Wells, Maine.

He is survived by his wife Eileen Pratt of Cumberland, RI; his sons Charles R. Pratt II, and wife Andrea, of Kutztown, PA, Michael J. Pratt, and wife Dawn, of Vernon, VT, Kevin P. Pratt, and wife Rena, of Northfield, MA; his daughter Lori J. Henson, and husband Skip, of Concord, NC; his step children Theresa M. Lawrence, Sandra A. Applegate, and husband Richard, Cheryl A. Al’Sasah, and husband Bilal, all of N. Providence, RI, Linda M. Doiron, and husband Joseph, of Southbridge, MA, Kathleen P. Natareno, and husband Jose, of Cranston, RI and John W. Lawrence of Pawtucket, RI.; his brother Alan Pratt of West Swanzey, NH; 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 22 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren; and his loving cat “Shadow”. Mr. Pratt’s sister Jane Pratt and beloved grandson Eric Pratt died earlier.

Graveside services for Mr. Pratt will be held at the family lot in the Oak Hill Cemetery in West Swanzey, Friday morning at 11 o'clock. Friends are invited. There are no public calling hours.
