Born and raised in Falmouth MA, Clifford was the son of Gail Croft and the late Harold Croft. With seven brothers and sisters, Sully, as he was called by family, had a childhood filled with fun, play and laughter. While raised near the ocean, Clifford later called the mountains, woods and lakes of New Hampshire his beloved home as an adult.
Clifford loved nature and was a skilled and avid fisherman in both fresh and salt water environments. He also enjoyed stormy weather and would head out into a storm, rather than avoiding the storm. Among favorite places, he felt the most contentment at Laurel Lake in New Hampshire and ocean side in Falmouth, MA. Clifford was a passionate NASCAR fan who never missed a race. He was also a true dog lover and every dog he ever had in his life was treasured in his heart forever.
Until illness prevented him from working, Clifford was a hard worker and spoke with pride about his long career as a FedEx driver. He was known by his customers for friendly and reliable service.
Clifford spoke warmly of the skilled and kind treatment he received at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, and at the Cheshire Medical Center Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene. The professional care and compassionate treatment Clifford received will be remembered by his entire family.
Clifford is survived by his three children: Jillian Paige of Tewksbury, MA, Evan Croft of Fitchburg, MA, Kayla Leveille of Auburn, ME; along with two grandchildren, Makayla and Cassidy Paige; his mother, Gail Croft of Oak Bluffs; brothers Harold, Patrick, Theodore and Jonathan who live on Cape Cod; sisters Jocelyn, from Greenfield, Gretchen and Rebecca from Cape Cod. Clifford also leaves many great friendships especially those with Shane Tucker and Michelle Christian. These friendships were dear to his heart and the support they provided to Clifford during his illness was boundless.
In his final days, a message sent by Clifford said “Everyone has been a great help in so many ways. Family, friends, doctors, and a few I don’t know. I also have God up above.” May you be in peace Clifford “Sully” Croft.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
The Foley Funeral Home of Keene, NH is assisting the family with the arrangements.
