Cody J Newstead

He was born in Keene on March 30, 1993, the son of Todd Newstead and Julia Roby. He grew up in the area and attended Keene and Brattleboro schools.

Cody worked for Hannaford’s in both Brattleboro and Keene as a cashier.

He loved to cook and was also an excellent artist specializing in sketches. Cody enjoyed spending time with his friends and loved animals, especially cats. He was interested in computers and was an avid gamer. Cody also enjoyed all kinds of movies including comedies, action films as well as documentaries.

His family remembers him as kind and lovable, always entertaining his family with his comedic skills and timing. He was someone his extended family looked up to. He wasn’t afraid to show affection for others and others found him to be likable and lovable.

Cody is survived by his mother Julia Bailey of Keene and his father Todd Newstead, and fiancé Christina Flood, of Dummerston, VT; his sisters Emma Roby and Isabella Bailey, both of Keene; his maternal grandmother Catharine “Sue” Wyman of Swanzey; his maternal aunts and their families Jennifer Chakalos, and husband Nick of Keene, and their children Lydia and Luke, Carrie Methe, and husband Michael of Keene, and their children Courtney and Logan; his paternal grandmother Barbara Campbell, and husband Warren, of Alstead; his paternal aunts Beth Cote, and husband Richard of Swanzey, and their children Holly, Tommy and Adam, Julie Morse, and husband Walter of Harrisville, and their children Nicholas, Stephanie and Ashley; his paternal uncle Paul Croteau, and wife Julie of Marlborough, and their children Alyssa and Alex; and his girlfriend Sandi Shafer of Swanzey.

Services for Cody will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014, 12:00 noon at Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 noon, also at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Cody Newstead’s name to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446.
