Dola was born in Island Falls, ME, November 19, 1919, the youngest of 10 siblings of Hulda (Watson) and Boardman Dunphy, Sr.
She married Herschel Botting on August 6, 1938, in Island Falls, ME. During the Hurricane of 1938, Herschel came down from Maine to New Hampshire to help clear roads and rebuild. On April 24, 1939 their only child Constance Marie was born.
Dola enjoyed family outings, cooking and baking, and knitting mittens. She traveled with Herschel and dear friends, the Hastings, across country and to Florida, but was happiest at home near her blazing fire.
