She was born in Keene, NH on February 4, 1926, daughter of Leonard J. & Beatrice (Batchelder) Harrison. She grew up in Marlborough, attending schools there, graduating from the Marlborough High School Class of 1944. Thereafter, she attended the Forsyth School in Boston graduating in the class of 1946.
She married Raymond W. Miner Jr. in the Federated Church Marlborough on July 21, 1951, thereafter residing in West Keene. For many years she worked for Dr. Fitzgerald, DDS in Keene. In 1966, Mrs. Miner and her family moved to Wilmington Delaware. During her many years there, she was a driving force in supporting the cause of equality and opportunity for handicapped citizens and was an active Episcopal Church woman. When living in Keene she attended St. James Episcopal Church. While in Delaware, she was very active in St. David’s Church Wilmington and the Delaware Association of Handicapped Citizens. Mrs. Miner was also a member of Asteria Chapter - Keene, Order of Eastern Star. For many years, she was a substitute teacher in the Alfred I. DuPont School district. While spending years of winters away, she made a point of spending every summer at a family home in Swanzey. In 2001, she and her late husband returned to New Hampshire full time, re-settling in West Keene.
Mrs. Miner was a Tour de Force in everything that she undertook: a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her immediate family and “aunt” to her larger family and helper to an extended circle of friends and the causes she believed in. She was the always dedicated to making sure others were the focus of her attention, boundless love and many delicious meals. Often dressed in her favorite color of yellow, she always greeted one with a smile and made you feel that you were the most important person in her life.
She is survived by sons Raymond W. (Bill) Miner III of Keene and Philip H. Miner and his wife Kathryn S. Miner of Harrisville. Four Grandchildren: Jonathan C. Miner and his wife Jillian M. Miner of Harrisville, Anna E. Ritchie and her husband E. Andrew Ritchie of Jaffrey, Emily R. Miner of New Haven, CT and Amy B. Miner of Harrisville and great-granddaughter Evelyn R. Ritchie of Jaffrey. Her parents, husband and a son, Leonard C. Miner and sister Barbara H. Frechette, all died earlier.
