

She was born in Troy, NH on February 10, 1924, the daughter of Charles and Olga (Niskainen) Isakson. She grew up in Troy and was a 1942 graduate of Troy High School.
Esther went on to graduate from Elliot Community Hospital School of Nursing in 1945. She worked at Elliot Community Hospital for several years before stopping to raise her children. She then worked as an Occupational Nurse at Troy Mills until her retirement in 1977.
In 1946, she married Charles Lepisto, Jr. and they were married until he died in 1967. She then married Richard McIlvain in 1976 and they were married until he died in 1991.
Esther was a member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Troy and for several years served as deaconess, a member of the Religious Education committee, the Ladies Guild and the Ladies Benevolent Society. She also started the Junior Choir.
She enjoyed her work with the church and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very giving to all.
Esther is survived by her children Charles Lepisto III, and wife Mary, of Lititz, PA, Bruce Lepisto, and wife Carol, of Keene, Elizabeth (Lepisto) Comstock, and husband Darrell, of Monroe, NC; step children Richard McIlvain, Jr., and wife Kathy, of Wichita, KS, Pat (McIlvain) Hastings, and husband Jim, of Chesham, Diane (McIlvain) Perham, and husband Andy, of Fitzwilliam; several grandchildren and great grandchildren which she loved dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Her son, Mark Lepisto, Sr. died earlier.
Services for Mrs. McIlvain will be held on Wednesday, December 26th, 2012, 11:00 AM at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 11 South Main St., Troy, NH. An hour of calling hours will be held one hour before. Burial will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mrs. Esther McIlvain’s name to the Troy Historical Society, Kimball Hall, POB 593, Troy, NH 03465 or to the charity of one’s choice.
