Evelyn Joan Callahan

Her parents, Elmer W. and Violet (Labarge) Peer welcomed their daughter into the world on September 20, 1928, in Bennington, VT.

Mrs. Callahan took great pride in caring for her home, enjoying vegetable gardening and taking many fishing trips up north with her husband, Bob. She was an auxiliary member of the Keene Fire Department and the Meadowood County Area Fire Department. Evelyn was a longtime parishioner of St. Bernard Church in Keene.

Evelyn leaves behind a large circle of special friends and family including her longtime friends and neighbors, Michael and Leslie Bentley of Spofford; her dear friends Lynne Simpanen of Spofford, Diane and Bob Fournier of Penacook, NH, Sue Parker of Westmoreland, NH, Tom and Kim Dwyer of Spofford, Linda and Tom Norton of Sebago Lake, ME; her nieces, Deborah Perrin of Ohio and Maine, Judy Westfall of Ohio and Martha Smith of Maryland and her nephew, Ted Duigon of Texas; great-nieces and great-nephew, Leslie Creus, Darren McCollester and Cathy McCollester, the children of her deceased niece, Mary "Bizzy" Callahan; her great-niece, Sarah Callahan, the child of her deceased nephew, Richard Callahan, and her cousins Patricia Small of Surry, NH and Harry Biggs of Waterford, CT. Her husband of 56 years, Robert "Bob" C. Callahan predeceased her on March 16, 2006.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:00 am in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH. Burial with committal prayers will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene.
