He was born December 1, 1962 in Brattleboro, VT., the son of Don L. and Joyce F. (Vallier) Chase, Sr. He was a 1981 graduate of Keene High School.
Compassion was one of his greatest and most admirable qualities, which he shared openly with his family, friends and those he met. He was willing to do anything for anyone who needed help and support. He was above all a wonderful “Dad’ to his children and he supported them throughout their journey into adulthood: whether he was offering them advice or making repairs to the vehicles, he gave of himself, without limits. He was a “handy man” and a “master of all trades”: from working on motors to teaching his daughter how to charge a tire on a car, his skills were endless. Animals also held a special place in his heart and even though he could not always be as close to them as he might like, due to allergies, he always found ways to make a home for them and to give them unconditional love. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was never able to pass-up the opportunity to go to a “yard sale” or auction. As for the simple pleasures in life: ice cream was his favorite and he would never turn down a chance to indulge. His warm sense of humor, contagious “boisterous” laugh and giving spirit will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughter: Rachel A. Chase of Brooklyn, NY, his son: Seth Chase of Windsor, VT, his sister: Kimberly Houle and her husband Norman of Gilsum, NH, his three brothers: Darrell Chase and his wife Barbara of West Chesterfield, NH., Jack Chase and his wife Nancy of Bomoseen, VT and Glen Chase of Manchester, NH, and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is also survived by the mother of his children and his friend: Linda Chase of Keene, NH.
