Glenn Allen Briggs

His parents, George E. and Dorothy M. (Hodgkins) Briggs welcomed their son into the world on March 22, 1941, in Troy, NH. Glenn was a graduate of Keene High School.

Skilled with his hands as a chef and entrepreneur, Glenn began his career as a cook at a camp on Lake Winnipesaukee and then as chef at the Fitzwilliam Inn. He later set out on his own, operating Glenn’s Family Restaurant in Hinsdale, NH and later Glenn’s Log Cabin Pizza in Fitzwilliam.

Glenn resided in Fitzwilliam for many years, moving to Swanzey where he has resided for the past 28 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.

He will be greatly missed by many, especially his wife of 57 years, Joanne (Hornichak) Briggs of Swanzey; his children, Shari Wesley of North Adams, MA, Robin Rolli and her husband, Paul of Memphis, TN, Shawn Lund and her husband, Richard, of Colebrook, VT, Melonnie Marchak and her husband, David, of Claremont, NH, Heather Zobel and her husband, Bruce, of Swanzey; his grandchildren, Skeeter, Alicia, Alanna, Richelle, Julie, Kayla and Ren; his great-grandchildren, Madeline, Briggs, and Adele; and a sister, Judy Briggs, of Lakeville, MA.

A celebration of Glenn’s life will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00pm at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH. All are welcome to attend.
