

He was born in Concord, NH, on October 1, 1959, the son of Howard and Doris Flanders. He grew up in Hillsboro, attending area schools and graduating from Hillsboro High School.
On July 25, 1987, he married Kim Y. Streeter in a countryside ceremony at their house in Dublin, NH. They have been happily married for 25 years.
Mr. Flanders worked for MBP for many years as well as for AT&T and US Cellular for a period of time. Most recently he was a Certified Pre Need Counselor for the Ker-Westerlund Funeral Home in Brattleboro, VT.
He had a passion for music, a love for history and strong political beliefs. He was a talented soloist, performing for a variety of local events. He was very social and loved talking to people, always finding some common connection. He enjoyed travels to Wells, ME with his family, fishing with his daughter Courtney, and spending time with his dogs. He was a spiritual person.
Jim was the conductor of the Keene American Legion Band, a soloist trumpet player, a member of the Beaver Brook Lodge #36 Independent Order of Odd Fellows, he belonged to or was Musical Director for numerous area choirs, barbershop quartets and bands. He was a member of the Keene Pops Choir, where he met and married his “honey” Kim. He was the Past Director of the award winning Cheshiremen Chorus, as well as the musical director for the singing group “Sounds of Joy” and the Choir Director for the Grace United Methodist Church in Keene.
He is survived by his wife: Kim Flanders of Spofford; a daughter: Courtney Flanders of Spofford; his Father in law and Mother in law: Thompson and Joyce Streeter of Keene; a brother in law: David Streeter of Keene; a brother in law: Chad Clark of Oakland, CA; a brother in law: Matthew Clark of Fremont, NH and his 6 brothers and sisters, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents: Howard and Doris Flanders.
Calling hours will be held at the Fletcher Funeral Home on Friday, July 12 from 10:00 am until 12. Funeral Services and Burial will be held privately at a later time.
