

Born in Keene on July 6, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Robert R. King and Esther M. (Griffiths) King. She grew up in Keene, and graduated from the University of NH where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Jan had been employed as a social worker for the State of New Hampshire.
She was a dedicated member of Eckankar as a member of the Clergy. Jan also volunteered for many years for MAFPA (Monadnock Area Foster Parents Association) as an active volunteer raising awareness for foster parenting programs and helping with contributions.
Jan published a book “Stories of the Heart”. She loved life and creativity, animals, music, dance, theater, sewing, and reading.She cherished her family, friends, and respected colleagues and clients.
Jan is survived by and will be dearly missed by a daughter: Cynthia M. Kaufman Noble; sons: Jeffrey R. Tharpe, Steven K. Tharpe, and David A. Feuer; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and former husband: Burtcham B. Tharpe.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph N. Feuer and former husband Murray L. Kaufman.
Family and friends are invited to her Celebration of Life to be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 161 Concord Road, Keene, NH from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
