Jocelyn Fairbanks Farina

She was born on February 3, 1943, in Keene, to Bert and Hazel A. (Joslin) Fairbanks. She attended Keene schools and she worked at her family’s neighborhood grocery store, Elm Street Market, The Melody Shop and more recently she owned and managed The Tanning Resort, where her customers appreciated her kindness and loyalty.

She married Ronald A. Farina, on Aug 15, 1972, in a ceremony at St James Episcopal Church in Keene, NH.

She enjoyed taking bike rides and she loved walking the beaches of Maine, Cape Cod and Florida. She discovered a love of Gelato on her trip to Italy with her husband and friends in 2010. She had an incredible appreciation and respect for nature and animals. She loved the wildlife not only in her backyard but at her family’s cottage on Island Pond, in Stoddard, NH.

She is survived by her husband, of 44 years: Ronald A. Farina of Keene; her children: Nancy MacKenzie of Tucson AZ, Tammy Waddell and her husband John of Redmond, WA, Diana Stowell and her husband Jeffrey of Claremont, NH, Daniel Farina of Keene, NH and Lori Pitsas of Milford, NH; 9 grandchildren: Michael MacKenzie, Matthew MacKenzie, Jessie Waddell, Megan Waddell, Amanda Stowell Geary, Andrew Stowell, Dina Pitsas, Adelle Pitsas and Devany Pitsas; her siblings: Kenny Fairbanks and his wife Donna of Keene and Teena Keefe and her husband Jim of Keene; as well as many nieces & nephews.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Fletcher Funeral Home in Keene from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at Saint James Episcopal Church on Wednesday, April 13 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the family plot at the Monadnock View Cemetery in West Keene.
