

He was born in Westfield, MA, August 23, 1960, the son of Robert and Diana (Miller) Harriman. He grew up in Southampton, MA, attending local schools. He later attended the American Motorcycle Institute (AMI) in Daytona Beach, FL, achieving his Certified Motorcycle Mechanic.in the spring of 1981.
Mr. Harriman resided in Minnesota for several years before moving to the Monadnock Region eight and a half years ago. He worked for Keene Motorsports before joining Toyota Volvo of Swanzey as service manager, where he has worked for the past five years.
He was a member of the NETRA Series New England Trail Riders Association; Knox Trail Riders; Merrimack Valley Trail Riders; Pilgrim Sands Trail Riders; the American Motorcycle Association; and the JDay GP riding series.
His passion was dirt bike riding and racing in the woods with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Ellen Ibarra-Harriman of Surry; his children, Aiden Jarek Harriman of Surry, Jessica Harriman of New Brighton, CT, Daniel Harriman of Westfield, Joshua Harriman of Southampton, MA; his mother, Diana Gahres of Easthampton; a sister, Linda Bachteler and her husband, Fred, of Southamption; his nieces, Nicole Pagliaro, Jackie Bachteler, Melanie Bachteler; his nephew Ben Bachteler; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sandra and Ramon Ibarra of Bedford, PA; and his step-children, Lucas Howsare of Surry and Benjamin Howsare of Pittsburg, PA. He was predeceased by a brother, Jeffrey Harriman.
A celebration of life and visitation will be held Friday, June 5th from 5:00 to 7:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. A prayer service, conducted by Rev. Sandra Ibarra, and words of remembrance will be shared at the funeral home beginning at 7:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John Harriman’s memory to your local individual Trail Rider Club. John was loyal to all the grassroots clubs that support riding and racing in New England.
